United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ: to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Throughout the history of the church women have played a vital role in the dissemination of the word of God to the people. Even Paul gave thanks for Timothy's mother Eunice and Grandmother Lois. The first person to proclaim the Gospel that Jesus Christ is resurrected from the dead was Mary. The Samaritan woman at the well took the message of Jesus Christ to her village. In the Old Testament we read about Ruth and Esther, two women of great courage who remained faithful to God and were rewarded for their faithfulness.
The United Methodist Women carry on this great tradition of spreading the Gospel to each other and to the community at large. Under the leadership of the United Methodist Women of this congregation we have raised funds to support a missionary overseas, sent young people to camp, and provided Christmas gifts to needy young people in the Mt Pleasant area. The UMW of this church have even helped to raise funds for the mission team to take to Oak Hill, West Virginia to help needy families there. Probably one of their greatest achievements is the support they provide each other in times of need or crisis.
We are blessed to have such a wonderful group of ladies who love the Lord and desire nothing less than to reach out to others for Jesus Christ. All women of the church are welcome to join these women in their efforts. If you have any questions about our United Methodist women's group, feel free to contact Linda Morgan, Doris Bowman, or Ellen Hockenberry. They welcome your interest.
All women of the church are members of the UMW.
We hope to see you in the upcoming year helping us to do God's work.
